The Nursery Unit is purpose built with its own entrance, cloakroom, toilets and washing facilities. The unit includes a fenced playground with outdoor equipment and a sandpit. The facilities and equipment are excellent and the staff are fully qualified and comprise a Nursery Teacher and at least one Nursery Nurse.
Our Nursery can accommodate up to 26 children in each of the morning and afternoon sessions. Children may attend the morning or afternoon session, Monday to Friday, or take up a 30-hours' government-funded or 30-hours' self funded place (please see the relevant year's Admissions Policy for details of the 30-hours places). The morning session starts at 8.45am and finishes at 11.45am; the afternoon session begins at 12.30pm and ends at 3.30pm. Entry to the Nursery is in the Autumn Term for those who will become four years old in that academic year.
The Nursery is an important part of the school and the children follow a carefully planned Foundation Stage curriculum which contributes towards and promotes children's social, emotional, moral, physical, intellectual, creative and spiritual development and provides a sound foundation for later education. The Nursery children share in some activities with the Main School, such as special assemblies and the celebration of major Church festivals.
Entry to the Nursery is in the Autumn Term for those who will become four years old between 1st September and 31st August. Nursery places are administered separately and parents should be aware that there is no automatic progression from our Nursery into the Main school.
