The Friends of Cheam Church Schools (FCCS) is a registered charity (No 274543) which was set up to support the church school in Cheam. The charity raises funds through parental donations to meet our school’s liability for repairs and maintenance to our buildings. This can vary from mundane repairs to the roof and redecoration of classrooms to the much more exciting replacement and upgrading of our ICT equipment. We feel very blessed to have such wonderful facilities at St Dunstan’s and we work very hard to maintain the school building and to ensure good value in all we do. None of this is covered by the funding we receive from the government. In fact, the government requires schools to fund 10% of capital projects themselves. This is why each year we ask every family for a donation. Without these essential parental donations to FCCS, the school would have to meet these costs from funds required for staffing or for other equally important aspects of expenditure. This would be hugely detrimental to the quality of the children’s all-round education and development.
This year’s contribution request remains unchanged at a minimum contribution of £50 per family. We are keen for parents to Gift Aid donations wherever possible as last year we were able to receive just over £2000 from the Inland Revenue in this way.Completing a standing order mandate for this payment also helps to keep administration costs as low as possible.
We hope that you will choose to help the school by supporting this charity.
