Committee Structure

The Full Governing Body devolves responsibilities to several committees. The following committees meet once per term, and otherwise as required.

Last Updated April 2024

Committee  Chair
Admissions
Remit:
The Admissions Committee drafts and reviews the School's Admission Policy and assumes responsibility for the implementation of the policy.
The Committee ranks all applications received with supplementary forms according to the admissions criteria in the policy, and then liaises on this with the Local Authority.
Mrs Melody Thorpe
Curriculum
Remit:
The Curriculum Committee takes a strategic overview of the school's curriculum offer; scrutinises and challenges anonymised pupil attainment and progress data and examines curriculum policies.
Working closesly with the Headteacher and the Senior Leadership Team, the Committee looks at strategies designed to promote high quality teaching across the curriculum and agrees priorities for the School's Improvement Plan.
Mrs Melody Thorpe
Finance
Remit:
The Finance Committee does all the preparatory work with the Headteacher and Bursar to ensure that the annual and full year budgets are sound, include the School's priorities and planned maintenance schedule and that the proposed developments are fully funded and can be recommended to the Full Governing Body.
The Committee monitors the income and expenditure throughout the year, ensuring that Best Value Principles have been applied and that Financial Standards and Policies are maintained. The Committee uses an independent Responsible Officer to carry out checks as specified by the Committee.
Mrs Sarah Santoro
Personnel
Remit:
The Personnel Committee is responsible for ensuring that staff recruitment and appointments are appropriate to the needs of the school. It is also responsible for ensuring that staff remuneration, including performance related pay, is properly administered and appropriate approvals obtained from the Finance Committee, where necessary.
The Committee has a strategic role over staff appraisals, conduct and performance, assisting the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team where appropriate.
Ms Susan Sprange

Remit:
It is the responsibility of the Premises Committee to ensure that the school's buildings and grounds are well maintained and provide a safe and suitable environment for the pupils and staff.
The Committee reviews and updates, where necessary, the school's risk and assessment and safety procedures. It also plays a strategic role in planning the development of the buildings and grounds in response to the School's changing needs.
